Registration open for two upcoming forestry webinars

The University of Illinois Extension Forestry program has two webinars upcoming in our Beginning Forest Landowner Program. These webinars are free and open to the public.

Online Resources for Land Management Webinar
February 10th, 6:00pm-7:00pm

Join us on February 10th at 6pm Central for a webinar on Online Resources for Land Management by Zack Stawicki, Coordinator of the Southern Illinois Prescribed Burn Association. Learn how to utilize online resources, on a computer and on your phone, to better manage your land. We will look at several resources that can help with topics such as Identifying plants both native and exotic, mapping your property, and learning about how your soil can affect your land.

Forestry Taxes Webinar

February 18th, 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Join us on February 18th at 6pm Central for a webinar on Forestry Taxes by Dr. Eric Holzmueller, Southern Illinois University Forestry Professor. Understating taxes is an important part of managing forested property. This talk will explore the different types of taxes that forest landowners need to consider, including harvesting, income and property taxes. Examples will be used to better understand certain tax situations.
